Nancy Mee

Nancy Mee is a sculptor and glass artist based in Seattle, WA. Mee was born in 1951 and attended the University of Washington where she earned a BFA in Printmaking in 1974. An artist in residency at the Pilchuck School in 1984 had a profound impact on her work when she began experimenting with fusing and slumping glass, leading her to new forms and larger creations. Her work incorporates a variety of materials, including glass, forged steel, bronze, stone and photography. Drawing on mythologies from around the world, her art often reinterprets European classical themes and stories reflecting universal truths, distilling their essence in her works.
