Karen LaMonte was born in 1967 in New York City. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990 and continued her studies with a Fulbright Grant which sent her to the Academy of Art, Architecture, and Design in Prague, The Czech Republic. She had her first solo show in Chicago, Illinois in 1996. She currently lives and works in Prague.
