Henry Richardson

Richardson resides in New York City. His path as a sculptor began at Haverford College in Pennsylvania and has continued in a circuitous manner in the decades since. He has worked in many mediums including concrete, steel, stone and wood, but says that the mastery of chiseling glass has allowed him to explore more complex ideas than he could have tested otherwise. Richardson is known for his monumental sculpture that often takes the form of the sphere. He also works in a more intimate scale for residential use, but the pieces retain the same powerful impact. While the technical solutions and methods are impressive the emotional significance for the viewer and the artist are of equal importance.
