Carl Dobsky was born in 1972 in Victoria, Texas. After studying at the Ringling School of Art in Florida and the New York Academy of Art, Dobsky studied at Jacob Collins’ Water Street Atelier. His work is grounded in traditional forms of representation while still incorporating contemporary elements, bringing grace to the

most mundane objects through the alchemy of light and a muted sense of poetry to humble everyday objects and urban scenes. An accomplished artist, Dobsky’s work has been exhibited across the United States as well as in Europe, with pieces in the New Britain Museum of Art as well as Gallery Poulsen in Copenhagen.
